A locally-famous island known by scuba divers as one that offers among the best diving in The Red Sea, Rocky Island is the southernmost off-shore island in Egypt, lying 60-70 kilometres from the coast, out in the Red Sea. This tiny uninhabited island gets some shelter from Zabargad (6 km to the northwest).

Still one of Egypt’s best-kept secrets, Zabargad Island is a jewel in The Red Sea. It’s located in the far south of Egypt’s coastline, near to the border with Sudan. It has several world-class dive sites, a wreck, and currently very few liveaboard dive boats are there each day. The remote location ensures for some excellent diving with special species.

Probably the most-popular area for scuba diving in Egypt and The Red Sea, Ras Mohamed has something for everyone. Its popularity is thanks to its location that allows for day trip diving as well as learning to scuba dive. Plus there’s a vast amount of marine life there, including sharks. There are more than a dozen great dive sites, with all kinds of conditions. Finally, it’s possible to dive there all year round. It’s not the best dive area in The Red Sea, but it is the most popular, and it’s very very good!
